Casares Panoramic Views

Like many towns and villages in Spain, Casares was originally the old traditional white washed village in the hills, built on steep slopes and impossible terrain, definately one of the places to see near Casares del Sol.
As time went by the land down from the hillside of Casares became a more attractive place to build, being flatter and near the beach. Driving around Casares, Costa del Sol, Spain

You can stay at Casares del Sol in Costa del Sol apartment without a car, there are buses just 5 minutes walk away and a taxi rank at a similar distance so its not essential to have a car, and there are several bars and resturants within 5 minutes walk. But to get the most from a holiday in the Casares area of Costa del Sol in Spain, you should really hire a car.  It means you can explore the area much easier, up into the hills and mountains just 10 minutes drive or down along the coastal road to the various beaches dotted along the Mediterreanan Sea coast, Duquesa beach, Sotogrande beach, and onto La Linea beach at the base of Gibraltar.
And with a car you can explore the local resturants more easily. But driving rules in Spain re drinking and driving at more strict than in the UK. In Spain there is no tolerance of any drinking pre driving, zero tolerance. So becareful. The Spanish do random testing sometimes, so be warned. So if you want a drink, use the taxis.
A car allows you to really explore the Costa del Sol area of Andalucia with places to see near Casares del Sol. A day in Casares old town in the hills. A day on Estapona beach. A night out in Puerto Banus. A days sailing from Gibraltar. All these days out are very close to Casares del Sol and easily done with a car.

• Choose golf courses within an easy drive of your base, after 4 hours golf do you really want to drive 90 minutes to get home?

• The high season for golf along the Costa del Sol coast in Spain generally runs from late September till end November and mid March till end of April. Venta Garcia Restaurant near Casares del Sol Apartment

Part of the fun of being on holiday, whether Costa del Sol in Spain or elsewhere, is the excitement of trying new restuarants with different foods. Sometimes you win and have a great meal. Sometimes you lose and are disappointed.

And if you find a restuarant gem thats only a stones throw from your holiday apartment, its even better.

From Casares del Sol Apartment you travel towards Casares village for about 5 minutes to get to Venta Garcia. From the outside Venta Garcia looks like a typical Spanish Venta, a white washed building on the side of the road with a huge window with panoramic views down the valley towards the sea, and a rough car park that always just about has room for all the cars. But inside you enter a different world, ultra modern and minimal.

We've been about 5 times now over the last few years and have always had great meals and great service. Serving typically Spanish food is a modern way at a good price.

You can choose to eat inside or outside. In the winter spring they had special menus at 20 euros for a meal, excellent value for 3 courses. But in the summer they are back to A la Carte. Choose from grilled vegetables to delicious homemade pate or typical cols Spanish soups for starters.

A truely lovely restuarant and highly recommended and so easy to reach from Casares del Sol, but just too far to walk.

Casares Beach, a Short Walk from Casares del Sol

When I go on holiday, I like to be near the sea, so I can throw off my sandals and paddle along the shore line as I walk along the beach. Theres something very relaxing about it, the initial 'coldness' of the sea water, the anticipation as to whether the next wave will reach you or not....
And the Casares beach (playas de Casares) is a vast expanse of clean sand, raked daily to keep it clean, and with a gentle slope to the shore so its quite safe for bathing. If you like walking you can walk from the Casares del Sol Apartment to the beach, past the chiringuito beach bar and then along the beach to Sabinillas just a mile away or on to Duquesa about 3 miles. Its a lovely stroll and the sand near the waters edge is cool even in the height of summer.
As well as the beach bar at the start of Casares beach there are several others on the way to Sabinillas and Duquesa, so plenty of chances to have a drink or a bite to eat.

Casares del Sol Apartments

Casares del Sol is located mid way between Marbella and Gibraltar on the Costa del Sol, Spain. The near by towns are Sabinillas and Estapona and Casares village in the hills.

This part of the Casares coastal area has grown up in the last 5 years with Casares del Sol apartments and 2 neighbouring golf courses. So the area has been developing in the last 5 years bring lots of new people into the area and facilities are improving all the time. There are several bars and resturants within a short walk plus 2 golf courses within a short walk.

In this blog we are hoping to give some feed back about the apartments,the golf courses, new developments, changes to the beach or roads, places to go, things to see.
