The Brasserie Restaurant has opened at Casares del Sol. Formerly on the seafront at Sabinillas. Having eaten at the restaurant several times last summer, I look forward to enjoying the food in the coming months. The Brasserie has just opened at Casares immediately opposite Casares del Sol in the Casares Golf resort. The new restaurant hopes to serve tapas, full menu and weekly music evenings.

Five Of the World’s top golf players have already qualified to play at Finca Cortesin Golf resort in the Volvo World Match play.

Two Major Champions, a Ryder Cup winner and a former Volvo Masters champion are the first four players to qualify and confirm their entry into the 24-man 2011 Volvo World Match Play Championship via the refined qualification criteria devised by Volvo and set to ensure one of the highest quality international fields on the European Tour in 2010.

Major Champions Graeme McDowell and Y E Yang; the current Defending Champion, Ross Fisher, who made a successful Ryder Cup debut as part of Europe’s winning Ryder Cup Team; and 2008 Volvo Masters champion Søren Kjeldsen will all head to the Finca Cortesín in Southern Spain for the Volvo World Match Play Championship which takes place from May 19-22, 2011.

If you like the freedom of a self catering holiday and want reliable warm weather for a summer holiday, the Costa del Sol is an ideal choice. It has various types of locations depending on your preferences, whether a busy beach or a relaxing quieter area. There is plenty of self catering apartment Costa del Sol accommodation to suit everyone.
For those that like a busy area, head to the more built up areas of Costa del Sol near Benalmedina, Torremolinos and Fuengerola. The beach will be busy with lots of people and lots of nightlife in the clubs and bars. So don't expect a quiet holiday and noise may go on into the early hours.

But if you are looking for a quieter holiday away from the built up areas and the noisy crowds but still near to restaurants and bars and beaches that are quieter, you should look at the areas along the Costa del Sol to the west of Marbella to Gibraltar. This is what is called the new golden mile with stretches of golden sandy clean beaches. Casares del Sol is in this area and is ideally placed for a quieter, relaxing holiday in the sun. Set in specious tropical gardens to fromt and rear with a fabulous large swimming pool that is fenced for childrens safety. And just 800m from the beahc of Casares beach with 3 miles of clean sands.

In Costa del Sol Spain, they are very keen on every community having access to a street gym. And now Casares beach has one installed on the esplanade in cool blue and green as seen in the photo, another thing to do near Casares del Sol apartment. This street gym is 6 seperate pieces of equipment designed to be used everyday when you take a walk from the Casares del Sol apartment. Just work through the 6 pieces of equipment daily for results. From a waist whittler to an very good arm press that involves you lifting your own body weight to a thigh worker and so on.
This gym is just one of many along the Costa del Sol, there being another less than 500m away on Sabinillas esplanade, in red and yellow. And another in Estapona again in red and yellow. And if you travel inland, most of the hillside villages have their own street gyms. And they are part of the Spanish strategy to fight obesity and lack of fitness in the population. And as a facility that is accessible to everyone, rich and poor, they are a great idea. But I've never really seen many people 'doing' their exercises on them.
