Casares del Sol apartment in Spain.

Casares del Sol is a newish development, approx 3 or 4 years old now so starting to settle into the Spainish landscape. The development is divided into 4 distinct areas, called PM's. And each PM is security fenced to enclose the apartments together, making a distinct community. So sometimes it is worth knowing which PM you are going to, and which PM you are booking your apartment in. As you drive into Casares del Sol from the Casares road, three of the PM's are on the right side of teh road, PM's 1, 2 and 3 and one is one the left side PM4. So if you are planning a holiday with another family or group, best to make sure you have apartments in the same PM to avoid problems with getting through gates into other PM's.

Casares Holiday apartment is in PM4 with distinct whtie stones portals set with tropical plants, a boule court and very soon a putting green. The rental apartments in PM4 are in a horseshoe shape around the fabulous swimming pools, one large pool and a small childrens pool. Both pools are fenced for safety with children. And around the pool area and behind the apartments are lovely spacious gardens, well tended and tidy. To rent one or more apartments, contact Casares del Sol apartments and make your request.

Tourist information office in Duquesa

The tourist office in Duquesa (officially Purto de la Duquesa) is next to the Port in the Mikonos building. I have been to Duquesa many times and was there only last week but I've never noticed the office until I read about it in the resident newspaper. Its easy to find being immediately across from the entrance to the port and across the road from the main port car port. The tourist office is open long hours which have recently been extended to Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 8.30 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. So call in the pick up useful information and advice on the area, where to go, what to do, events, sports in the Manilva area. So call in and make use of the tourist office, its really needed. Use it or lose it as the saying goes.

This should be a useful resource for holiday makers in the Manilva area wjich includes Casares del Sol apartment. Because the tourist office in Sabinillas is closed and has been closed for several years. But do let me know if you know different!

Plans for new Beach Club at Casares Costa

Location of new Beach Club at Casares Costa

Plans have been submitted to Casares Council for a new Beach Club near the Salt Tower . The Council have approved plans and given lease for 40 years. The applicant was Single Homes SA, owners of Finca Cortesin Golf Resort next to Casares del Sol apartment development.

The planned club would have swimming pool, restaurant and beach club to improve the facilities in the area. Now that it has been approved, construction is supposed to start very quickly.....but that doesn't often happen in Spain. So we'll wait and see.

Restaurant near Casares Apartments

Restaurant near Casares del Sol apartments.

Eating out when you are on holiday can be an important part of your enjoyment, so a bonus for any Costa del Sol Apartment holiday is a good restaurant within a few minutes walk.

Just across the road from the Casares del Sol Apartment, a mere 5 minute walk at most, is the D'Antonella Restaurant and Bar. Well decorated and furnished with a lovely terrace in sunny weather for drinking or eating outside looking over the countryside, mountains and exciting 1st hole of the Casares Golf course with its fairway across a lake.
The food served at D'Antonellas is spanish style with strong international influence, its good food, well presented and good service. They sometimes have daily special menus during the day which are good value for 2 or 3 courses if you don't mind eating before the evening. Or you can have a light snack at the bar or on the terrace with your drink. Well worth a visit and no need for a car.

Eating Out in Sabinillas

Sabinillas is the closest town to Casares del Sol, a small, very Spanish, fishing town that has many Spanish holiday makers with Costa del Sol apartments, that has yet remains fairly untouched by tourism. On the coast with a long beach stretching out in either direction, the esplanade along the beach has several restaurants of diiferent styles. Being a fishing town it is not surprising there are many fish and seafood restaurants and food styles range from Spanish to Argentinian to Indonesian to Indian to Chinese. On the esplanade there is:

Casares Panoramic Views

Like many towns and villages in Spain, Casares was originally the old traditional white washed village in the hills, built on steep slopes and impossible terrain, definately one of the places to see near Casares del Sol.
As time went by the land down from the hillside of Casares became a more attractive place to build, being flatter and near the beach.
